Tips on Throwing a Surprise Party

Browse for the best tips on throwing a surprise party. If pulled off correctly, then a surprise party is a ton of fun for the guest of honor, other guests and you, the planner. Surprise parties take a decent amount of planning and there are some pieces of advice that are a good idea to follow.
Inviting guests
Whenever and wherever the party is planned, you must give all attendees the right amount of information to get them there on time in order for the surprise to work. You should advise party-goers to arrive earlier than the guest of honor so that it is actually a surprise. Make sure any needed info is included in the invitation, whether you decide to go with a paper invitation or online invite. If you have chosen paper invites, make sure that none of your guests leave an invitation within view of the guest of honor. If you are sending out invites via email, make sure that the guest of honor does not have access to any of the email addresses you have sent the invites to. If you have chosen Facebook as your mode of letting people know about the party, know that the invite page is not viewable by the guest of honor. In all circumstances, instruct guests not to talk to the guest of honor about their party.
Helpers
It is difficult to plan and carry out a successful surprise party by yourself. Have at least a couple of people that are willing to help you out. One of these people should take responsibility for accompanying the guest of honor to the surprise location. They can provide any needed distractions and make sure the guest of honor actually gets to the location.
Surprise parties are great fun, but do take a lot of work. Cover all of your bases for a successful surprise.
