If you have chosen Facebook as your mode of letting people know about the party, know that the invite page is not viewable by the guest of honor. In all circumstances, instruct guests not to talk to the guest of honor about their party.

It is difficult to plan and carry out a successful surprise party by yourself. Have at least a couple of people that are willing to help you out. One of these people should take responsibility for accompanying the guest of honor to the surprise location. They can provide any needed distractions and make sure the guest of honor actually gets to the location.
